MIDDLE YEARS CURRICULUM
In years 7-9, the curriculum focus is to:
Open student’s hearts and minds to the calling of God for them.
Provide a learning environment where each student feels understood,
supported, valued and encouraged by teaching staff.
Impart the understanding of “Learning and Serving” as a principle for living that embraces both serving God and others within the student’s family, school, church and local community contexts.
Include students as valued and active participants in each of the curriculum contexts
Equip and prepare students with the necessary prerequisite skills, knowledge and attitudes to be successful learners in the Senior Levels.
The curriculum outcome for each Middle Years student is to:
Understand their God-given gifts and abilities, with the desire to use them in God’s service and for the benefit of others.
Demonstrate that they have the learning skills, attitudes and personal disciplines to enable them to be successful learners in the senior levels of study.
Acquire an awareness of their opportunity to be a positive influence on others with the Christ-like leadership skills of a servant-leader.
Develop a sound basis of Christian morality and values to guide them in ethical actions and responsible citizenship
